PE and Sport Premium
PE & Sports Premium
What is the PE and sport premium grant?
The government provides funding worth £320 million per year to support its aim of giving children the opportunity to live healthy and active lives. This money goes directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. This means that St Mary's is allocated around an average of £17,000 each year.
The PE and sport premium funding is used to:
support all children and young people to live healthy, active lives
make participation in PE and school sport easier
make sure all children can achieve and thrive through increased physical activity and sport, no matter their background or ability
improve children’s health, wellbeing, personal development and academic attainment
embed the foundations of positive and enjoyable participation in regular physical activity.
