SIAMS

Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS)

Church of England schools are also regularly inspected under a process called the Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS).  These inspections focus on the ethos and leadership of the school as a Church school. The inspection is for one day and occurs usually every five years.

St Mary's Bryanston Square last received a SIAMS inspection in December 2014. We are currently awaiting a new inspection under a new SIAMS framework.

When a school is inspected under the SIAMS Framework the key question inspectors will be addressing is:

How effective is the school’s distinctive Christian vision, established and promoted by leadership at all levels, in enabling pupils and adults to flourish?

This is then explored through seven strands:

Strand 1: Vision and Leadership;

Strand 2: Wisdom, Knowledge and Skills;

Strand 3: Character Development: Hope,Aspiration and Courageous Advocacy

Strand 4: Community and LivingWell Together

Strand 5: Dignity and Respect;

Strand 6: The impact of collective worship;

Strand 7: The effectiveness of religious education
