Air quality awards
Thu 13 Dec 2018Mrs Leith won a Champion award from Sustrans for all the work she has done to promote sustainable travel for the school. We are really proud of her, especially as there were only 10 awards given out across London, and she is the only person in Westminster to win an award!
On 5th December, Heidi, Mohammed and Myra attended the 2018 Top Schools accreditation seminar and awards ceremony at London’s Living Room at City Hall. St Mary’s won a ‘School of the Region’ award in recognition of our achievement in active and safer travel initiatives.

Book Fair
Thu 13 Dec 2018We had our annual Scholastic book fair last week. Our target this year was £1000 and with the amazing support from parents and children we hit our target and over – we raised £1100 in total! This incredible amount is the highest in school history and will enable us to purchase resources to support the children’s learning. Thank you so much to everyone who came along and bought books.

Prayer Space Day
Fri 16 Nov 2018On Wednesday 31st October, Kirstine and Charlotte from St Mary’s church ran a Prayer Space Day for the children. Each class took part in different activities which allowed them to reflect on their thoughts and feelings about different issues such as homelessness in London, natural disasters and peace. They also explored their own gifts and gave some really thoughtful responses.

Welcome back!
Mon 29 Oct 2018It is lovely to see everyone looking refreshed and rejuvenated after the holidays! We have a busy term ahead and we’re really excited about all the new experiences we’ll be having. Topic webs will be coming home this week, so keep an eye out for those. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, a member of staff will be in the playground each day.

Attendance Celebration
Fri 19 Oct 2018In assembly today, we talked about why it is so important for children to be in school every day. Here are some facts about this term:
We were delighted that so many children hit our school target of 96% or higher attendance!
What made us most excited was the fact that 100 children had 100% attendance! This is brilliant and now we are aiming to beat that figure for next term!

Harvest Service
Thu 18 Oct 2018On Wednesday, we held our harvest service in St Mary’s church. The children read, prayed and sang beautifully! The choir (and Mr Watkins) also treated us to a special performance of ‘You’re Welcome’ from the film Moana. Thank you to the musicians from St Mary’s church for accompanying us.
We would also like to say a really big thank you for all the donations of food for the North Paddington foodbank. Your generosity and thoughtfulness are much appreciated and will really help out some families in need.
