Meeting Today at 5:30pm at St Mary's Bryanston Square School
Mon 29 Sep 2025Dear Families,
We will be holding a meeting today at 5.30pm on school site, for all parents to update you on the plans going forward to get children back to face to face learning.
Due to restrictions on space, we ask that only one adult per family attends, and that there are no children present.
If you are unable to attend the meeting, a summary of the key information will be sent to you later this evening.
Kind regards,
Mrs Marius-Beeko

School Closure Update
Thu 25 Sep 2025Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I am so sorry that we had to make the decision to close the school at such short notice this morning. As you may have seen from the videos on our social media, around half of our school building was flooded because of the burst water main – so we were really left with very little option. I am pleased to say that the water levels have now gone down, but the damage and mess that has been left is significant. It is clear that we will not be able to return to the building for the next few days – and we are starting to consider the possibility that we may need to look at other plans after that. We want to try and support our children and families as much as we can through this. It is important that we give you as much notice as possible so that you can start to prepare and make the necessary arrangements. That is why it is important to let you know that: • School will be closed tomorrow, and our teachers will be using this time to prepare to move to online learning. • For the whole of next week, online learning will be provided to all children. We might be able to accommodate a small number of children at school who have some very specific needs, but this is still to be confirmed. • There are a whole team of people looking at what our next steps should be after that. We are very grateful for their support. Our hope is that we should have an update by Monday, which is why we are proposing a meeting for parents at Christ Church Bentinck School, 39 Cosway Street, NW1 5NS at 5.30pm. At this meeting we will let you know what the plans are. Please know that we all want our children to be back together as soon as possible. As good as we will make the online learning – nothing beats having our children learning and laughing together. Finally, I also wanted to say thank you for your support over the last few hours. It is hugely appreciated!
Yours sincerely,
Mr Duffy Mrs Marius-Beeko
Executive Head Teacher Head of School

Letter to Parents - Partnership between SMBS & Christ Church, NW1 (Camden)
Mon 24 Feb 2025Dear Families,
I am writing to inform you of some upcoming changes to the leadership structure of the school, which will be in place from the Summer Term (22nd April 2025). As you may know, the majority of London schools are adapting to reflect the changing needs of families within the city. This currently means adapting models, and creating or developing new working relationships with local schools.
After Easter, Mr Duffy will become the Executive Headteacher of both St Mary’s Bryanston Square (Westminster) and Christ Church CE Primary (NW1 - Camden). This change has come about due to the retirement of the Headteacher of Christ Church school. The governing bodies of both schools have now agreed to join into a school partnership. Christ Church is a very similar school to St Mary’s; a thriving school serving it’s community, with a dedicated staff team. To find out more about Christ Church, please feel free to browse their school website here: https://www.cchurchnw1.camden.sch.uk/
As Executive Headteacher, my time will be shared across the two schools. Mrs. Marius-Beeko, will be your Head of School (day-to-day Headteacher) at St Mary’s and will be ably supported by Mrs. Stepinska and Mrs. Schroer.
This change will not affect the day-to-day running of St Mary’s school, though, as stated above, the leadership team structure will change, as follows:
Executive Head Teacher – Mr Duffy
Head of School – Mrs. Marius-Beeko
Assistant Head Teacher – Mrs. Stepinska
Assistant Head Teacher – Mrs. Schroer
Parents are invited to join us on Wednesday 26th February for a Meet the Senior Leaders coffee morning. This is an opportunity for you to talk with Senior Leaders and ask any questions you may have. We look forward to this opportunity to continue to grow our school and share our love and wisdom.
Kind regards,
Lee Duffy & Sarah Bedford
Headteacher & Chair of Governors
